PE-Xb/Al/PE-Xb IN BARS

Multilayer pipes with aluminium (AL) have the peculiar characteristic of combining the qualities of metal pipes with those of plastic materials and consist of 5 superimposed layers:
- 1st layer: this is the innermost pipe, made of PE-XB which is a thermosetting material, therefore stable even at the high temperatures that are reached in heating systems with radiators: it has an extremely smooth surface and allows a drastic reduction in pressure drops compared to the traditional metal pipe used in the plumbing and heating sector.
- 2nd layer: an intermediate layer, it is a thin layer of polymeric material (highly adhesive) that keeps the inner layer (PE-Xb pipe) joined to the immediately outer aluminium layer.
- 3rd layer: aluminium (AL) pipe, 0.2 mm thick and welded with a butt-welded system, the aluminium layer makes this pipe completely impermeable to oxygen, allowing a drastic reduction in corrosive problems in heating systems.
- 4th layer: intermediate layer, is a thin layer of polymeric material (highly adhesive) that holds the inner layer (aluminium pipe) together with the immediately outer layer (PE-Xb pipe).
- 5th layer: the outermost pipe, made of PE-Xb (silane cross-linked polyethylene) has an extremely smooth surface and contributes to making the multilayer pipe more high-performance and unassailable even from the outside.
